JEDDAH, 30 November 2006 — Security agents have launched a probe after finding a decomposed body in an enclosure located west of the Madinah Palace Hotel and close to the fish market.

Medical reports said there were no signs of stab wounds or beating. Forensics experts say the man, whose identity is not known, died about 17 days ago.

Informed security sources told Arab News that special agents would continue their investigation to find out the reason behind the death and why was the body left in the enclosure.

“The body has been handed over to relevant security authorities in order for relatives to identify it,” one source said.

The source said security authorities were successful in arresting 20 persons involved in various criminal cases this year such as drug trafficking, thefts, production of liquor, forging of official documents and pick-pocketing. The criminals were nabbed during raids in past months.
