JEDDAH, 1 December 2006 — Come Dec. 8, the Western Region chapter of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers in the Kingdom (PSME-WRSA) will be adding another plaque to its growing collection of awards and citations.
Just recently, the PSME-WRSA was named “Most Outstanding Chapter for the Year 2006” by the PSME national governing board in Manila.
Rainier P. Patawi, the public relations officer of the chapter, said the title will be their third in three consecutive years.
The plaque will be formally awarded to the chapter by a representative of the national governing board on Dec. 8 when the PSME-WRSA holds its 7th Annual Convention, with the theme “Technological Excellence for Global Advancement.”
The convention is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the popular Sunset Hotel near the Square Bridge along Madinah Road in Jeddah.
Patawi said technical seminars and product presentations will also be held to introduce the latest developments in the mechanical engineering world to the chapters members and other participants.
A new set of officers and members of the Board of Directors for 2007 will also be inducted into office.
“The 7th Annual Convention will set another milestone in the history of the society through the leadership of the Chapter President Willie Leoncio, Convention Chairman Joey Arellano and through the efforts of the incumbent officers, directors, committees and benevolent sponsors from the different companies throughout the Kingdom,” said Patawi.
