It’s very rare and difficult these days to find a Saudi man or a woman feeling content with what they have. They can never answer your questions with a positive tone, without making a fuss. Many people share the same answers and they all hint that they are living in terrible conditions because of circumstances they can’t control.

The majority of these complainers don’t suffer financial problems and have luxurious lifestyles, yet they still feel they have reasons to nag and grumble. In fact, this habit is an awful tradition where the person complains of stress and pressures that are crushing him as excuses for laziness and negativity. The majority of people complain about things related to their jobs and the difficulties they face.

We all know that the workplace is a source of stress. Some of us face problems with managers at work who don’t commit to professional ethics and mix their personal desires with their managerial ones.

Actually this is becoming an international problem that is presented in many movies and programs. But this is still not an excuse for complaining. We have to reflect a more vital and positive image of ourselves. All people have work-related stress yet they should never allow this to rule their lives. Work-related stress should motivate them to insist on working toward improving their circumstances and opening job opportunities instead of just complaining.

Our major problem is that we’re always complaining without putting much effort into creating better circumstances. We stick to a lifestyle. We refuse to change. For instance, many young Saudi men who grumble and criticize are not ready to change their lives outside the job. Their daily routine after the working hours starts with a nap that can’t be canceled under any circumstances. Then they wake up to follow up on all football matches locally and internationally. The day ends either by going out with friends or channel-surfing the television.

We all don’t want to change the way we live our lives yet we want for things to change miraculously and when they don’t we start to complain. We mustn’t be so negative and we must plan our lives to achieve our goals. Useless habits and waste of time can never help in making us feel happy and satisfied. Complaining and grumbling are habits of inadequate nations.
