JEDDAH, 21 January 2007 — From small beginnings, the Zultec group of companies has, over the last 20 years, grown to rank as a multinational conglomerate, reaching from Saudi Arabia to Canada, UAE, the UK and Pakistan.

The company’s then youthful CEO Zulqiurnain Ali Khan founded the company in the early 1980’s. He gathered round him a team of professionals and with his drive and vision coupled with their ingenuity, steadily built a trans-national business network in the retail logistics and warehousing industry.

Khan believes that keeping pace with technology and sound forward planning are keys to success. They must however be backed up with a coherent vision for the company, timing, decisive and timely action. Based in Jeddah, Zultec provides innovative solutions for retail, logistic and manufacturing industries. Products include systems for packaging, weighing, marking and labeling, food processing, and Auto ID. In the IT division of the industry, Zultec provides hardware and software for data capture, bar coding and IT solutions from simple portable systems to sophisticated installations with ERP connectivity.

As a mark of quality control of the company and its products, Zultec is a participating member of several international accreditation bodies including AIM (Automatic Identification management), and the Retail Council of Canada. The company has built an enviable reputation for the quality and reliability of its products over the last 20 years and has developed strategic associations with well-known suppliers and corporate bodies worldwide.

Links with Pakistan resulted in the company investing there. One major business agreement is with the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Commission which has received wide publicity and acclaim in the Pakistan media.

In the west, Zultec has a long standing business relationship with the US- based Paxar, world leader in woven, heat transfer and other garment labels. Having signed up to a joint venture with Paxar, Zultec’s Pakistan connections has allowed it to benefit from that through linkages with large manufacturing facilities in Karachi. Other foreign investments made by the company include the Sundar Industrial Estate and plans to expand further into the textile industry.
