Kingdom Telephone Subscription Surges

JEDDAH, 29 January 2007 — The Kingdom’s land phones grew by 16.39 percent and mobile phones by 72.33 percent in 2006, Shoura Council Chairman Dr. Saleh Bin-Humaid said, while discussing a report on Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) before Communication and Information Technology Minister Mohamed Jameel Mulla. The Kingdom’s information network service grew by 13 percent last year, Bin-Humaid added.
