JEDDAH, 30 January 2007 — Adel Jubair, former foreign policy adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, has been appointed new Saudi ambassador to the United States. King Abdullah made the appointment on the recommendation of Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal. Jubair replaces Prince Turki Al-Faisal, who resigned after only 15 months on the job.
“Adel ibn Ahmed Al-Jubair is appointed our ambassador in the United States with the rank of a minister at the Foreign Ministry,” the royal decree said. Jubair, 44, is a graduate of North Texas University and Georgetown University.
