Grand Mufti’s Tenure Extended

JEDDAH, 17 February 2007 — The tenure of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, has been extended for another four years.

“The service of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, the grand mufti and head of Dar Al-Ifta, is extended for four years from Feb. 17,” said a royal decree.

Dar Al-Ifta is a Riyadh-based institution responsible for Islamic research and giving religious rulings on contemporary issues.
