RIYADH, 26 June 2007 — The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) signed a deal yesterday with several leading companies that would enable Qitaf customers to retrieve prizes from stores for their combined points.
“The signed deal will enable Qitaf customers to turn in their points gathered from using the landline or mobile with free purchasing coupons that will be sent to their mailboxes,” said Saad Al-Qahtani, STC’s deputy president for commerce and marking.
He said STC was cooperating with 90 companies for customers to purchase free items using these coupons. He said that for every 600 points gathered in the Qitaf program, a coupon worth SR100 would be given.
He said that Qitaf customers can enjoy purchasing products from over 1,100 sale outlets in various cities in the Kingdom which include restaurants, electronic stores, clothes stores, bookstores, and shopping centers.
He said that each coupon would have the customer’s name written on it to prevent fraud operations. He also said the company aimed at widening the variety of retail stores as much as possible to give customers the optimum choice of choosing what fits their requirements.
Al-Qahtani said that in addition to mobile and landline services, the Qitaf program would soon be included in DSL services in the Kingdom after authorization is given from the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
STC offers the Qitaf program free of charge to over 20 million customers in the Kingdom through its landline and mobile services.
Every bill to a customer shows the number of Qitaf points gathered during that month. STC also said that customers can combine all their Qitaf points into one account from different mobile numbers or landline numbers.
