Saudi Cable Wins Bahrain Contracts

JEDDAH, 4 April 2007 — Saudi Cable Company won two contracts for cable supply — one for 66 kV aluminum cables, and the other for 220 kV copper cables — to the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a total value of about SR68 million. The company expects huge supply orders from the GCC countries.

JCCI Chairman Rules Out Members’ Rift

JEDDAH, 4 April 2007 — The chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) said yesterday in a statement to the press that there were no disputes between board members. Chairman Saleh Al-Turki said that there were no disputes concerning elections among members of the board. Sources, however, affirm that the chairman’s relationship with other members has recently been “tense”. Al-Turki said that the board members council is a coordination council and does not have authority on the chambers activities.

SAIC Net Profits Jump in First Quarter

JEDDAH — The first-quarter earnings report of Saudi Advanced Industries Company showed that net profits by the end of March 2007 reached SR3,509,457, up from SR1,036,124 in the first quarter of 2006.
