RIYADH, 21 March 2007 — Saudi Arabian Marketing & Agencies Company (SAMACO), distributor of Porsche cars in the Kingdom, has launched the new second generation Cayenne SUV. “Porsche has equipped the new Cayenne with leading edge technology, power and passion to maintain its lead in the market,” Bandar K. Al-Turki, SAMACO’s general manager, said at a press conference here yesterday.
Al-Turki said the basic retail price for the second generation Cayenne models ranges from SR191,600 to SR384,900. It is now available at all SAMACO’s showrooms in the Kingdom.
Spelling out the new features of Cayenne, Papke said the new attractively designed Cayenne models, have been given more powerful direct fuel injection (DFI) engines, which at the same time generate up to 15 percent savings in fuel consumption. “Moreover, the car benefits from a number of new and highly-advanced technologies, most notable of which is dynamic chassis control stabilizer, advanced trailer stabilization system and roll-over sensor,” he said.
Papke further said: “Never before has there been a car so capable of performing as a race-bred sports car and a truly specialized 4 x 4, like the new Cayenne. The basic version of this sporty SUV has a 40-bhp power enhancement and is now driven by a 290-bhp six-cylinder engine, the displacement of which has increased from 3.2 to 3.6 liters.”
Meanwhile, the new Cayenne Turbo manages to generate 700Nm of torque and an additional 50 bhp than its predecessor raising its output to 500 bhp.
Referring to the growing sales of Porsche cars in Saudi Arabia, David said “from the day it entered our showroom, the Cayenne has been a great success, thrilling Porsche aficionados with unlimited breathtaking experience behind the wheel. This will elevate its popularity to a new level and reignite the passion it instilled in the heart of Porsche enthusiasts”. The Cayenne Turbo is fitted with Porsche active suspension management with air suspension as standard.
