Search Clinical Trials Info

If someone close to you is ill and a cure seems unlikely, take a moment to check out the new service from the Center for Information & Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP). The organization has launched an online service, www.SearchClinicalTrials.org (SCT), a search engine designed to scan the web and compile US clinical research trials, results, news and information.

A free service to the public, SCT is the first search engine to gather and organize information for patients from various registries and portals. The user-friendly database has an advanced search feature, enabling users to customize searches by trial sponsor, disease or condition, drug name and source.

Next Generation Conferencing Speakerphone

The “Quatro” Speakerphone from Phoenix Audio Technologies (www.phnxaudio.com) utilizes next generation digital signal processing technologies aimed at bringing participants closer, even when they are situated far away from the speakerphone. With its multiple microphones and multiple speakers, the Quatro analyzes the room’s acoustics and eliminates noise, reverberations, echoes and other acoustic interferences.

The Quatro operates as an add-on device to existing telephones. It utilizes their Man Machine Interface features — such as dialing, memory storing and others, while seamlessly taking over the audio portion of the communication and replacing it with a processed and improved audio stream.

In addition to the core speakerphone unit, there are a number of “plug in” interface modules that compliment the Quatro. The basic unit comes with a USB interface, connector for optional external speakers and an extension plug for daisy chain or external input connection. Among the Quatro’s “plug in” interface modules are POTS interface (single line and two lines), SIP interface, proprietary PBX interfaces, Video Conferencing Systems interface and more. Most of the modules are available with battery operation.
