ISLAMABAD, 4 April 2007 — President Gen. Pervez Musharraf told a high-level US congressional delegation here yesterday that his country was fighting terrorism and making efforts to curb extremism.
The US delegation comprising Congressman Silvestre Reyes, Congressman John F. Tierney and Sen. John McCain, praised Pakistan’s role in fighting terror.
“The United States will continue to cooperate with Pakistan in its efforts to fight terrorism,” they said.
The delegation members earlier held a meeting with suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan in Lahore. They also met former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London.
