JEDDAH, 23 April 2007 — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) recently held series of seminars called “Decision Makers” at its main headquarter in Jeddah. A group of the bank executives presented analysis of the latest developments in the national economy. Adnan Bin Himd, Islamic Finance Group head at the bank, said the symposia aimed at providing Islamic banking solutions for senior clients in the field of Islamic finance. The most prominent issues debated concerned the risks and products and services trade, Islamic banking solutions, and finally products and cash management solutions.
Samsung Unveils Anti-Infection A/C
DUBAI, 23 April 2007 — Samsung Electronics yesterday launched the world’s first air conditioners that fight SARS, bird-flu and other infections. Along with the newly launched M-Series and F-Series, the three split-type models are expected to increase the growth of Samsung’s Home Appliances business in the Middle East. The Samsung patented Micro Plasma Ion, embedded in the V-series — the hallmark of the new range — generates active hydrogen atoms which combine with oxygen ions to strongly purify the air by decomposing viruses, bacteria and allergens. German Training Team to Visit Kingdom
RIYADH, 23 April 2007 — The First iMOVE delegation composed of 15 German training providers will be arriving here on April 28 for a five-day visit which will take them to Jeddah. iMOVE — an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, aims to promote international cooperation and to establish business relationships in the field of initial and continuing vocational education and training. German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (Gesalo) said the delegation is a cooperation between iMOVE and Gesalo and will be hosted by German Industry & Commerce Delegate Gerd Doepner.
