JEDDAH, 26 June 2007 — Prince Khaled ibn Alwaleed bin Talal on Sunday attended a high-profile launch of the “Blood Purification Program for Kidney Failure Patients.”

The event, which was organized by the “Prince Fahd ibn Salman Charitable Society for the Care of Kidney Failure Patients,” was held at Riyadh’s Intercontinental Hotel under the aegis of Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman, who is also the charity’s chairman.

Prince Alwaleed ibn Talal donated SR2 million to the program. Various members of the Saudi royal family, dignitaries and medical professionals also attended the event.

Prince Salman’s son, Prince Abdul Aziz, is supervisor of the charity and signed an agreement last October to sponsor the program.

The charity helps hundreds of kidney failure patients and offers life-long benefits to donors, including lifetime medical care.

In 2001 Prince Salman ordered that the charity be renamed the “Prince Fahd ibn Salman Charity for Kidney Failure Patients” in honor of his late son Prince Fahd, who was the charity’s secretary-general.
