4-Day Visual Fest to Open at the JCCI

JEDDAH, 17 July 2007 — Mayor of Jeddah Adel Fakieh will today inaugurate the second round of the four-day Jeddah Visual Shows Festival at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).

Mamdouh Salem, executive director of Ruwaad Media, an audio and visual productions company, said the festival includes the showing of 38 short films and documentaries. Nineteen of the films are Saudi-made with the rest from other Gulf countries.

Salem added that the four-day festival would start daily at 9 p.m. and end at 1 a.m. Films featuring at the festival range from 10 to 45 minutes and reflect the Saudi and Gulf region in an artistic and melodrama style.

A 44-minute film called “Women Without Shadows” by Haifa Al-Mansour is also to be shown together with films by Ali Al-Amir and Saeed Al-Marri.
