Highlights of Jeddah Film Festival

JEDDAH, 18 July 2007 — The 2nd Jeddah Film Festival or Jeddah Visual Shows Festival, as it is called, was opened at the Ismail Abudawood auditorium at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) yesterday night.

The festival, which will run until Friday is showing 48 films that vary from short fiction movies to documentaries and animations. The screenings will start every day from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

The following is the festival’s schedule.

Wednesday

“Away From the Camera’s Sight” by Naif Fayez (Fiction — Saudi Arabia).

“Disorder” by Munir Mohammad and Moa’ath Hafiz (Documentary — UAE).

“Hayat Takhshiba” by Abdullah Rashdan (Fiction — Bahrain).

“Coffee Shops” by Nidal Bader (Documentary — Bahrain).

“No to the Tyrannical Hunt” by Mishari Al-Arouj (Kuwait — Animation).

“Fear of Injustice” by Ahmad Al-Hasan (Fiction — Saudi Arabia).

“The Spinner” by Abdullah Rashdan (Fiction — Bahrain).

“Thilasimya” by Hafsa Al-Mutawea (Documentary — UAE).
