KOCHI, 11 August 2007 — P. P. Davis, an administration executive with BeSix Constructions of Dubai for the last 14 years, has won the first lucky draw of the Cochin Duty Free (CDF), one of the largest duty free shops in India that showcases a wide range of international products.
His wife Sumitha, a schoolteacher, received the keys of a brand new luxury apartment in an exclusive locality in Cochin from CIAL managing director S. Bharat. “The CDF has earned the reputation of offering various products of international brands at the lowest regional price. This has made it one of the most vibrant and attractive shopping destinations in the region attracting a large number of inbound shoppers,” Bharat said.
According to him, this is the first time that immovable property of this value is being offered as a prize in any duty free promotion in South Asia. “We will be having more such exciting and innovative contests and promotions at CDF in future,” he added.
The CDF has also launched a contest called Thani Thankam or purest gold. The contest gives every passenger who shops at the CDF a chance to win a 99.99 percent pure 24-carat Swiss gold coin from Federal Bank.
Passengers who shops at CDF between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30 this year will get a lucky coupon seeking answer to two “simple questions” that is to be put in the drop box. Lucky draws are conducted every day to pick five winners to be announced the same day. Each of the lucky winners can collect a five gram gold coin from selected branches of Federal Bank in Kerala, Bharat said.
