BISEJ Achieves Excellent Results

JEDDAH, 12 August 2007 — Bangladesh International School-English Section Jeddah (BISEJ) students have achieved outstanding results at the IGCSE and A Level examinations conducted by the Cambridge University, UK.

In all 22 students from the school appeared at the IGCSE examination held in June 2007. Of them, Erfan Muhammad Chowdhury scored nine A*’s and Khaled Muhammad Abedin and Rifat Rahman Khan achieved eight A*s. In the IGCSE exam, a total of A*’s scored is 77 and that of A’s 25.

At the A Level Examination, out of 19 candidates Osama Muhammad Ali scored three A’s and one A, and Nabil Habibullah scored 3 A’s. At the A level examination, the total number of A’s scored is 10.

Dr. Muhammad Khaled Akhtar, chairman of the school’s governing board, said: “This achievement is definitely the outcome of the dedication of the teaching and support staff, and the students and their families. This has been possible due to efficient management. I assure the present and prospective parents of our school students that we would spare no efforts to maintain this outstanding performance of the school in the coming years.”

School Principal Michael Callaghan congratulated the students and emphasized the value of Cambridge examination and the important role of the school in the Bangladesh expatriate community.
