Madinah Charlatan Put Out of Business

MADINAH, 15 August 2007 — The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice here arrested a man who was exploiting people’s superstitions and convincing them he had supernatural powers that could bring them good fortune, for a fee. Commission members busted into the clinic where the charlatan was performing his illicit business. An unspecified amount of money was confiscated. The commission said it would continue to hunt down those who exploit ignorance of people by convincing them that they have magical powers.
