Taqwa International School, a new addition on the educational scene of Riyadh is the brainchild of a group of highly-educated, like-minded and motivated group of individuals. They all have a common vision of imparting quality education with equal emphasis on character building.
The school on Khurais Road of the Saudi capital city is equipped with modern infrastructure, a band of dedicated teachers well-versed in the latest techniques of education and all other amenities necessary for the elementary level.
Yet another school? What’s so special about TIS? “Well, the thing that sets TIS apart from others is that we believe that the knowledge we impart to our kids should build a God-fearing personality, and education should be quality as well as character-oriented” said M. H. Zulqarnain, TIS chairman, while speaking on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, here yesterday.
He further explained that the school offers an integrated educational program following the CBSE curriculum along with subjects like Qur’an, Islamic Studies and Arabic, with the aim of imparting strong moral and cultural values and inculcating a sense of service to humanity.
“This was in fact the fulfillment of a long-felt need of our community,” said Zulqarnain, adding that the school follows the latest educational technology and is in the process of developing a methodology called IDEAL: Innovative, Dynamic, Entertaining, Applied Learning”.
Taqwa International School has opened its doors to everyone irrespective of his/her religion or nationality, with the sole vision of educating, nurturing and developing students into wholesome personalities. Currently, TIS offers a well balanced curricular and extra curricular program for Nursery to Grade II. Alternative arrangements have been made for non-Muslim students and children of other nationalities: The first group gets Moral Stories, Saudi History & Culture instead of Qur’an and Islamic studies, Arabic being optional for them. Children of other nationalities can opt for languages other than Hindi/ Indian languages.
The visionaries of Taqwa consider that the time spent by students during their school years is not only immensely valuable for their own careers, but also fundamentally important to their families and to the society that they are a part of.
“That is why equal emphasis is given to career as well as character building,” said the TIS chief, adding that the school has picked up a competent and compassionate faculty capable of using efficient methodologies and tools. The faculty members have been positively engaging students for all-round development and providing a healthy, caring and exciting environment.
TIS believes that teaching and learning should be pain-free and students should not get lost on the path of learning; they should be able to appreciate the purpose of education and relate learning to the real world.
TIS is licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education and it follows English as the medium of instruction. It also offers facilities for optional Qur’an memorization. Khalid Abdullah Al-Rajhi, a renowned businessman of Saudi Arabia and proprietor of the school, is taking active interest to see that the school achieves its objectives.
The school has efficient transport facility for students. It also has Intranet facility, library for students and parents as well as an auditorium for holding school events.
A noteworthy element of the school is its engagement in continuous research to upgrade teaching methods, and learning techniques. Feedback from parents and students is a key input to this self-evaluation program. TIS Management Committee is composed of qualified, experienced and dedicated personalities fully committed to the school mission.
