Indians are proud to celebrate their 60 years of Independence today. India has done tremendous progress in various fields. Indians are very advanced in manpower, material and machine all over the world. The large number of Indian scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, educationalists and financial managers gives it a real comparative advantage, and has helped the country emerge as a global hub for services.
The dynamism shown by India’s private sector is remarkable. India has taken several major steps for strengthening its dialogue with other nations and signing framework agreements to enhance regional economic and technical cooperation. The face of India has changed dramatically.
Reforms undertaken since in the last two decades have unshackled and changed the economy. Undoubtedly, one of the key factors behind India’s success is the widespread and rapid development of telecommunications and information technology. This rapidly growing industry has triggered a cycle of higher investment in education and training, leading to more and better jobs, leading in turn to more domestic demand for automobiles, modern fashion, retail banking and other consumer goods and services.
Today, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has evolved into the second largest air force in Asia and the fourth largest in the world.
High growth has led to a steady decline in poverty especially in the last decade. A great deal remains to be done but India is headed in the right direction. The government’s efforts to increase infrastructure investment, improve the fiscal situation, and make the process of growth inclusive through a renewed focus on agriculture, rural development, and employment generation are strong measures for further progress. Despite political instability in the last decade, India’s economic performance in recent years has been among the best in the world.
The younger generations should share greater responsibility in order to achieve more progress and development of the nation. It is the major responsibility of the youth to eliminate the anti-social elements, selfish politicians and the communal forces from the society who want to harm our great nation just for their vested interests. They should follow the true steps of Mahatma Gandhi, Moulana Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, and other famous leaders who struggled hard and fought for the nation for its independence with one and best spirit of unity.
India is the largest democratic nation in the world where several people are living following their own cultures, traditions, civilizations, religions and languages which is certainly remarkable. Nationalism, secularism and the fraternity are the main tools for the nation-building. It is the duty of each and every citizen to ensure and maintain national integrity. I wish to salute with great respect to my beloved country India and all Indians in India and abroad on this historical day.
