JEDDAH, 26 August 2007 — Students of Al-Waha International School, Jeddah have done remarkably well in the IGCSE examinations held in June.
Out of the 26 students who appeared in the IGCSE examinations this year, 12 got the ICE award, while eight of them received the certification in the distinction category and four have placed in the merit category.
Performance in individual subject streams has been outstanding as well and an impressive array of A* and A grades have marked student achievement in the languages, sciences, mathematics and humanities. Out of a total of 192 subject entries, 179 of the grades i.e. 93.2% lie between A* - C with 45 A*’s, 37 A’s and 65 B’s.
Heading the honour roll are Khalid Jamal Al- Amoudi with 7A*’s and 1 A and Riham Dabapu with 6A*’s and 3A’s, closely followed by Yehya Shakeel and Hammad Abid with 5A*’s and 1 A, Huda Hussain Syed with 4A*’s and 3 A’s. We applaud the superlative efforts of all other students in particular Ayesha Mansoor with 3A*’s and 4A’s, Kaiser Ahmed and Ummesalama with 3A*’s and 3A’s. Shrif El-Adham with 2A*’s and 3A’s, Junaid Lakhani with 4A*’s and Kamil Hashmi with 3A*’s, who have brought laurels to the school and their parents with outstanding performances in almost all the subjects.
From the academic year 2005-2006, a comprehensive AS and A level program are being taught to Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of the school, offering a combination of subjects in English, mathematics, sciences, computing and commerce.
Outstanding performers amongst AS and A Level students are Mohammed Jamal Al-Amoudi who has topped with 5A’s. He is followed by Fahim Asghar and Mohammed Hafiz with 1 A and 3 B’s, Samia Khan with 2 A’s, Mohammed Hussain with 2A’s & 3C’s and Sana Shaukat 1A, 1B and 2C’s, Luay Marwan with 2 B’s and 1C and Zohra Jabeen and Umair Khan with 1A and 1 B.
