DUBAI, 16 September 2007 — Prime Minister of Malta, Lawrence Gonzi, yesterday led a high level Maltese delegation on a visit to Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City, member companies of TECOM Investments.
The delegation was received by Abdullatif Almulla, CEO of TECOM Investments along with Jamal Abdulsalam, executive director of Dubai Internet City (DIC), Mohammad Al-Mulla, director of Dubai Media City (DMC), Hamad Huraiz, executive director of the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) and senior management of SmartCity. The visit follows the unveiling ceremony recently of the master plan for SmartCity Malta.
In discussions held on the sidelines of the visit, the delegation was briefed on details of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and the specific services extended within Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City.
Abdullatif Almulla, CEO of TECOM Investments said: “The visit by the Prime Minister of Malta to Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City has further strengthened our partnership with the great country of Malta. We had very fruitful discussions on the future and strategic direction of our joint initiatives. Jamal Abdul Salam, executive director of DIC, said: “To be recognized for our work is always great, but to be able to claim that other countries such as Malta have decided that our successful module can add value to their ICT businesses is an honor.”
Mohammad Al-Mulla, director of Dubai Media City, said: “Dubai’s knowledge-based models and creative initiatives enjoy a strong proven track record, placing it on the international map.”
