Tourists Start Arriving Next Month

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 20 October 2007 — The first chartered flight from the United Kingdom will arrive at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport on Nov. 2 with 258 tourists, heralding the four-month peak tourist season in Kerala.

The famed Light House, Eve’s and Samudra beaches of Kovalam will turn lively as the majority of the tourists will be staying at the resort, authorities here said. Of these tourists, 70 percent have opted for the 14-night package and the remaining for the 6-night round tour package covering Kumarakom, Thekkady, Munnar, Kochi and a cruise in the traditional houseboats. The second chartered flight with 340 Britons will arrive at the airport here the next day. Chartered flights carrying tourists from the UK will arrive here every Saturday till April 2008.
