RIYADH, 5 December 2007 — A delegation organized by India’s Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is currently visiting the Kingdom to promote gems, diamonds, stones and jewelries.

The GJEPC delegation is also promoting the forthcoming major jewelry event entitled “International Jewelry Show Signature”(IIJS) to be held in Goa from Feb. 29 to March 3 next year.

Rajeev Shahare, deputy chief of the Indian mission, said here at Marriot Hotel on Monday night that India’s trade with Saudi Arabia in gems and jewelry sector is “a tip of the iceberg” and it is high time to forge closer ties with Saudi Arabia in this sector, which is one of the largest consumers of diamonds, gold jewelry and gems in the world.
