RIYADH, 6 December 2007 — Sri Lankan Expatriates Society (SLES) in Riyadh will hold a “Charity Bazaar” today at the Lankan Embassy premises at 4 p.m. W.S.M.S. Wijesundera, charge d’ affaires of the Sri Lankan Embassy, will open the fair being organized to fund humanitarian projects. SLES holds free medical clinic in Riyadh every week and also offers financial assistance to distressed Lankan workers in the Kingdom. Besides Sri Lankan products such as tea and fresh coconuts, a pavilion consisting of 13 stalls would be set up to showcase handmade items by young girls from the island. Visitors can have free medical checkup at the clinic in the fair.
