RIYADH, 10 December 2007 — Indian Ambassador M.O.H. Farook has announced the appointment of 10 prominent Indian community leaders as members of the managing committee of International Indian School, Riyadh (IISR) here on Saturday.
A business professional, who works as director for operation & commercial affairs for a local giant Al-Hada Group, Talib Al-Rahman, has been nominated as chairman to lead the much-awaited IISR management panel.
Speaking on the occasion, Farook said “the panel is a 10-member board, which will be entrusted with the task to govern and set policy for the IISR.”
The panel will be composed of seven members with three-year term, while remaining three members have been designated as ‘reserve’ members to serve as replacements. “Out of 11 short-listed candidates, 10 have been accommodated in the committee,” he added.
Dr. Mohana has been named as vice chairman, while Abdul Rahman Imtiaz Ahmed, Shah Ghulam Subhani, V.R. Badran Menon, Khurseed Shah Khan, Chandrasenan Nair, Shamim Raza, S. Hamid Akbar Haider Ali and Ghulam Maqsood will serve as members of the panel.
Asked about the need of the management body at this time, when the school was running peacefully as of now, Farook, who is also the IISR patron, said that the panel would work directly under my supervision and serve at my discretion.
