RIYADH, 10 December 2007 — The Saudi Organization for Industrial Estates & Technology Zones (SOIETZ) has announced that investors can obtain all the services required online via its new bilingual website launched yesterday. The website www.soietz.gov.sa was launched after a successful trial period.
Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah, director general of SOIETZ, said in a statement that investment opportunities now available include pumps, hotels, logistic services (warehouses and associated services), workers’ housing, location of ATM terminals, remittance centers, entertainment and business complex, training centers, (computer, English language and industrial rehabilitation), advertising services and coffee kiosks.
Prospective investors could log on to its website to get further details about the business potential and other relevant information.
Al-Rabiah said the developed website represents SOIETZ’s commitment to industrial investors.
Engineer Saleh Al-Rasheed, SOIETZ IT manager, said the website has been designed to allow the user/browser access to information in a fast and easy manner, in keeping with the new spirit of SOIETZ.
In another development, Prince Bandar ibn Saud, a member of the board of trustees of King Faisal University, and Al-Rabiah signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a technology zone in King Faisal University.
The aim is to achieve the goals of linking the university to the R & D sector to undertake scientific research and joint activities, as well as to support industrial clusters.
He said SOIETZ was presently working on a special project to provide the industrial cities with the latest data and technical services.
It will include integrated security for the protection of those cities through a 24-hour surveillance system that uses advanced technology.
