Schneider Electric organized seminars on “Equipment and systems” in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alkhobar recently. About 500 persons including government officials, consultants, contractors and end users took part. It was aimed to promote Schneider Electric equipment and solutions offered in the Kingdom and specifically in the water segment. The equipment include MV switchgears, MV & LV motor starters, relays, and transformers along with the power quality and automation solutions in the water segment. Schneider also emphasized its strength on its after sales services capabilities. Schneider Electric Vice President Georges Barbarin opened the seminar and outlined the company activities across the Kingdom. He also mentioned about its global operations. Activity managers presented their products and innovative solutions to cater to the needs of the customers. The seminars were also marked by a demonstration on a booster pump that can be used in the remote pumping stations in water transmission line or in lift stations in the sewage networks, and another on a sewage treatment plant for SysTech, Riyadh.

Canadian Crystaline Waters

Canadian Crystaline Waters, based in Chennai, India, is studying the prospects for water projects in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Gulf. It is one of the leading manufacturers of water, wastewater treatment and desalination technologies since 1972, with four decades of experience in water treatment. It is also one of the largest manufactures of mineral water processing machine, bottling machines and pet stretch blow molding machines in the Indian Subcontinent. Among its specialties is effluent and sewage treatment plant. “We have successfully supplied more than 5,000 projects of various sizes in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Africa, Australia, Eastern Europe and the United States,” the company’s senior management executive said. The projects have been covered in various industries like textile, tanneries, bottle water, beverages, sugar mills, refineries, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, hotels and resorts globally. “Our successful history for the past 40 years speaks about our technical strength,” he added. “Our specialization and expertise includes, bottle water projects with more than 2,000 installation worldwide. We are a one-stop manufacturer of complete processing, packing machineries and Pet blowing Machine for bottle water.

UMC

United Motors Company (UMC), the sole distributor of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, opened its new showroom at the Jeddah Auto Mall on Wednesday. As part of UMC’s ongoing commitment to deliver excellence in customer service, it has already seen the company open a new sales and service facility in Tabuk, commit to refurbishments to existing facilities in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and develop a new site in North Riyadh in addition to the new Jeddah showroom. “United Motors’ continued commitment to its customers ensures that with every new or fully refurbished facility, United Motors is capable of delivering the best customer experience in sales and after-sales. Our investment in these facilities and its dedicated staff is enormous, but essential to attain and maintain the very high standard our customers deserve,” said Mark Jenkins, deputy general manager, UMC. “The new showroom features a 600 sq m sales floor, displaying up to 17 vehicles — with a spacious service reception, customer waiting area, spare parts store and sales area.” The basement of the new facility houses a fully-equipped service area with eight state-of-the-art bays, further increasing service capacity as sales of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge continue to grow at a strong rate in the Kingdom. “Response to the new vehicles, including the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Nitro has been extremely positive, and with other new introductions, including the Jeep Patriot and Dodge Avenger due shortly, things are looking extremely good for the brands,” he said.

Tetra Pak Arabia’s customers — Luna, Nadec, Saudia and Nada — recently supported the Ministry of Education in organizing fun-filled educational events to mark this year’s World School Milk Day. Celebrating the milk day aims to raise the importance of milk consumption among school children. More than 5,000 children, from boys and girls schools across Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, participated in a range of edutainment activities aimed at raising awareness on the health benefits of milk. “Health and education play a vital role in shaping our children to become leaders of tomorrow. Combining fun and learning to celebrate events like School Milk Day helps create excitement and enthusiasm among school children to be more actively involved when it comes to diet and leading a healthier lifestyle,” Salih Al-Ansari of the Directorate General for School Health (Boys) said. The event saw a range of activities centered on the topic of healthy and nutritious milk. Various interactive games, a milk seminar, an educational play, songs, Q & As, bazaars and giveaways for the whole family marked the day. “I hope that this will encourage children to drink more milk to promote health of students and upgrade their lifestyle,” Sulaiman-Al-Shehri, general director of school health, Ministry of Education, Girls Education, said. “We are proud to work with the Ministry of Education and our customers to commemorate School Milk Day in Saudi Arabia. We are pleased to encourage healthy eating habits which help to understand the role quality dairy products play in our lives,” said Amar Zahid, managing director, Tetra Pak Arabia.

Four Seasons

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Rami Zaki Sayess as general manager at the 249-room Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh. A dual citizen of Britain and Lebanon, Sayess comes to Saudi Arabia with a wealth of experience gained from international postings within the hospitality industry over the past 18 years. He moves to Riyadh from Four Seasons Hotel Amman in Jordan where, as hotel manager, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the hotel. Sayess has impressive training first at Switzerland’s Les Roches Hotel Management School where he graduated with a Diploma in Hotel Management and then at Cornell University in the US where he completed his certification in Hospitality Management. He spent most of his professional career with luxury hotels in Geneva, London, Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain, Beirut and Mauritius. In his latest role, he will be responsible for the full-time operations at the 249-room Hotel. “I am delighted to be at the helm of Four Seasons Riyadh and will ensure that the hotel continues to enhance Riyadh’s reputation as a premier luxury destination,” he said.
