MADINAH, 24 December 2007 — A Moroccan pilgrim got a little mixed up when he jumped into a Madinah-bound taxi, a local paper reported yesterday. The exhausted pilgrim only wanted a lift from Mina to the Grand Mosque — a few kilometers away. The pilgrim then promptly fell asleep in the back of the crowded cab. Four hours later he awoke in front of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, a 390-km drive. Fortunately he got a good nap, and after the driver took him to the Haj Ministry arrangements were made to get him back on track to complete his rituals by circumambulating the Kaaba in Makkah.
