ABHA, 2 January 2007 — Police are investigating the theft of SR1 million from an ATM. Robbers broke into the system, stole the money and escaped without leaving a clue, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported. Police gathered some evidence and they said they would not rest until the thieves have been caught and the money returned.
Accident Kills Anti-Drug Officer
RIYADH, 2 January 2007 — One officer was killed and two others injured in an accident while they were on the trail of drug smugglers, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported. An anti-drug official said in a statement that the officers were following drug dealers when they had an accident in which one was killed and the other two badly injured.
Runaway Maid in Bootlegging Deal
RIYADH, 2 January 2007 — Police have arrested an Asian maid and a man who were living together illegally and making alcoholic drinks for sale, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported. Police said they received many calls complaining about the operation and they were able to catch the two. The man admitted that he had sexually abused the woman.
