JEDDAH, 14 February 2008 — At least 53 Filipinos have passed the licensure examinations for engineers and master electricians that was administered by the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) in the Kingdom last Christmas.
A partial list released by the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers in the Western Region (PSME-WRSA) showed that there were 40 passers of the exams for mechanical engineers, seven for the civil engineering exams, three for the registered electrical engineers’ (REE) exams, and three for registered master electrician (RME) exams.

According to Roger Gonzales, PSME-WRSA external affair director, the oath-taking ceremony for all Jeddah-based board passers is scheduled on Feb. 21.
The venue is to be announced later, said Gonzales.
Gonzales said the list he released was incomplete, as it did not include the results of the architecture examinations and the other passers in Alkhobar.
Some 200 examinees participated in the test given by the PRC in Alkhobar on Dec. 20 and 21 for the Eastern and Central regions, and 130 for the Dec. 24 and 25 exams given in Jeddah for applicants from the western part of the Kingdom.
