JEDDAH — Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad scored blowout victories against separate opponents Thursday night in the Saudi Basketball Federation’s AlJawal Tournament at the Prince Abdullah Al-Fasial Stadium here.

Ahli made mincemeat of Al-Arabia in a 77-45 victory while Ittihad were equally unforgiving as they tore Fath to pieces 91-64.

Ahli ran away with the game, resting their star import player Damon Forney and coasting to victory.

Arabi, next to last in the team standings with only one win and 11 loses, were no match for Ahli. Ahli got a chance to play their bench players and kept their third place position.

The second game was as much a sleeper. With Mahmood Abdul Rauf sitting out till next week the Ittihad scoring was balanced. Ali Magrabi had 19 points and Jabber Al Shamrani came off the bench to hit six shots in a row and five three-pointers for 17 points. Yaya Iberihim had 16 points, and Adel Al Johani finished with 13 for Ahli who had little trouble disposing of Fath.

Import players Earl Ike and Jermain Lewis each made 16 points to lead Fath.

Ittihad remain in the second position. League-leaders Ansar edged out Wedah 71 to 68. Hilal beat Qadisiyah 99-86 and Ohud routed Masera 92 –69 in the other matches.
