Abha Chamber to Train Businesswomen

ABHA, 9 April 2008 — The Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry has embarked on a training program for businesswomen, which is first of its kind. “How Can You Start a Business From Home” is the title of the program, which will be launched shortly.

Abdullah Al-Mubti, chairman of the chamber, said his organization decided to launch the program inspired by its social responsibility in order to tap the resources of an important sector of the society to boost the country’s economic development.

“This program will not only help establishment of small-scale projects but also create a large number of jobs for young Saudi men and women,” the chairman told Arab News. The program will provide guidelines to young Saudi businesswomen on how to build their businesses on the right foundation.

The 14-week training program will be held at businesswomen’s center at the chamber. In the first two weeks, the trainees will be given theoretical courses.

Saudi women, aged 18-45 and holding at least a secondary school certificate and intending to start businesses from home, are qualified to attend the program.
