JEDDAH, 18 April 2008 — A 20-year-old Saudi mother who killed her two-month-old infant recently by throwing the baby out the window of her second-floor flat was sent to a mental hospital. The mother was arrested and her case was transferred to the General Prosecution and Investigation Board. The father of the girl contacted police after the incident.
This is the second crime in a month that involves a mother killing her own babies. Last month a Syrian mother drowned her baby in a bathtub in Al-Faisaliya district of Jeddah.
