RIYADH, 11 May 2008 — Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of Saudi Research & Marketing Group (SRMG), who is also chairman of the board of directors of the Prince Ahmad bin Salman Applied Media Institute, has signed an agreement with Steve Buttry, director of Tailored Programming at the American Press Institute (API), for cooperation in training and know-how transfer, an official statement said yesterday.

According to the agreement, API will offer training in media management, distribution and printed media matters besides several other specialized media programs of the Prince Ahmad Institute. The agreement also stipulated that API would enable the institute’s staff to present media training programs.

Carol Ann Riordan, vice president of programming and personnel, and Dr. Abdullah ibn Hamad Al-Dalaigan, managing director of the institute, also attended the signing ceremony.

The world-class institute with major SRMG funding was inaugurated by Riyadh Governor Prince Salman last month.

“The institute’s objective is to prepare professional media persons, who can cope with the rapid developments and breakthroughs in the Arab and global media markets,” Prince Faisal said at the opening of the institute. Prince Faisal has also signed a similar agreement with Agence France-Presse.
