Red Bull Trial Bike World Champion Ends Tour

JEDDAH, 16 May 2008 — “It was a wonderful experience,” said Red Bull athlete and Trial Bike world champion Kenny Belaey while ending his tour of Jeddah and other parts of Saudi Arabia the other day.

Kenny, a 25-yar-old Belgian, and his younger brother Wesley, 21, performed a breathtaking show in the presence of a large number of trial bike lovers at Muchos Cafe in Jeddah.

They also performed at King Abdul Aziz University, CBA faculty, and some public and commercial locations.

“I have impressive and beautiful memories of all the countries I visited in general and Saudi Arabia in particular. I will always remember the young Saudi enthusiasts who have evinced keen interest in Trial Bike sport, which has won unexpected popularity,” Belaey said.

Young Saudis who watched them perform various stunts said theirs was a breathtaking feat.

“I was thrilled to see the brothers performing the stunning jumps with their bikes over artificial obstacles,” said Abdul Aziz Al-Zahrani, a young trial bike fan.

The brothers gave awesome shows for three weeks in several cities in Saudi Arabia. They started their performance in Alkhobar where they displayed their stunts in front of students of King Fahd university for Petroleum and Minerals, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University and several other locations in the city.

The champ and his brother then moved to Riyadh to continue displaying their talents before the students of King Saud University, Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University, Prince Sultan university and also in front of the visitors of both Kingdom Tower and Al-Faisaliah Center.

Kenny has won world championship in the sport six times and claimed the European title twice in addition to grand records of international championships, which he won since 1989.

“My father was a motorbike buff. I started taking interest in the trial bike sport from my younger days,” said Kenny who is not only the world champion but also an acknowledged legend due to the new records he achieved during his performance in Beijing some time ago. In the Chinese capital, he succeeded in finishing 31 rounds in 180 degrees in only one minute to break the previous world record of 26 rounds and enter Guinness World Records.
