RIYADH, 26 May 2008 — Saudi Telecom yesterday announced that it concluded new international roaming agreements for SAWA prepaid service with Rogers in Canada and Zain in Iraq to further reinforce Al-Jawal’s position in these countries offering easier contact for SAWA Al-Jawal pre-paid or Al-Jawal post-paid customers.
Previously, Al-Jawal signed roaming agreements for its post-paid lines in Iraq with Asia Call and in Canada Al-Jawal also signed roaming agreements with Rogers-Fido for post-paid lines and with Rogers for post-paid lines as well as MMS services. With the agreements, SAWA pre-paid customers are able to roam with 98 operators in 53 countries worldwide in addition to roaming services for post-paid cards with 427 operators in 158 countries around the world.
Moreover, the agreements provide 3G roaming with 26 operators in 17 countries as well as international video calls with 25 operators in 18 countries and roaming with Jawalnet with 192 operators in 75 countries add to that MMS messaging with 90 operators in 52 countries around the world.
