JEDDAH, 28 May 2008 — Five Saudi women artists are participating in an art exhibition that opened at the Italian Cultural Center on Hail St. today under the patronage of the Italian Consul General, Adriano M. Santacesaria di Barale.
The five Saudi women, along with other Italian artists, will show different works at the exhibition, which is open to both men and women every day from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibition ends on June 3.
“Art is one of the major ways of expressing and maintaining the civilization and culture of a population. The feeling is an important element in releasing ideas that are vital in any type of art,” said Ahmad Filimban, a Saudi artist who studies in Italy and is also the organizer of the event.
