JEDDAH, 29 May 2008 — The Kingdom and Spain signed an agreement for mutual transfer of certain categories of prisoners, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The agreement was signed on Tuesday between Interior Minister Prince Naif and Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos on the sidelines of an official visit by King Juan Carlos to the Kingdom.
Moratinos signed another agreement with Secretary-General of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Prince Sultan ibn Salman for cooperation in the tourism sector between the two countries.
King Carlos left Jeddah yesterday after the two-day visit.
Governor of Saudi Arabian General investment Authority Amr Al-Dabbagh, who met with the Spanish king earlier yesterday, said the private sectors in both countries made plans for the launch of a Saudi-Spanish joint investment fund for infrastructure, including water, electricity and seaport construction at King Abdullah Economic City.
