JUBAIL: Ibn Zahr Toastmasters Club in association with Jubail Toastmasters Club honored prominent speakers from the Eastern Province toastmasters fraternity with a special function titled “Iconic Speeches”.

Club president and General Manager of Ibn Zahr Khaled Mutlagaitu chaired the meeting and P.J.J. Antony was the master of ceremonies. Veteran speakers Paul Chirammal, Oussama Turk, Mosaed Al-Garni of SABIC, PGR Nair, Abdullah Al-Abandi, Khaled Matlagaitu and Kaleem Khan presented their speeches. “Each speech was distinct in its way and inspired the audience to expand their intellectual horizons and to strengthen their humanistic values,” said an organizer.

Abdullah Al-Abandi, the current Gulf Toastmasters District humorous speech champion, delivered his winning speech. Taher Moinuddin and Kaleem Khan presented skips.

SABIC Vice President Ali Al-Khuraimi, who was the chief guest, lauded the toastmasters fraternity for the yeoman services to nurture and develop the communication and leadership skills of natives and expatriates alike.

“The event reflected Saudis growing participation in Toastmasters,” said Antony, who is president of Periyar Toastmasters. “There are three exclusively Saudi clubs in Jubail itself. Jubail Industrial College started a club of their own at the institution.”

Abdulhadi Al-Betar expressed vote of thanks. Jubail Toastmasters Club President Kaleem Khan was the architect of the novel meeting, which was followed by fellowship and dinner.
