AL-JOUF: A number of students at Al-Zubair bin Al-Awwam High School in Domat Al-Jandal were involved in an after-school brawl in which the boys fought pitched battles armed with sticks and knives.

“The fight took place on Wednesday and initially started between two students. It then progressed to involve more students who brought knives and sticks,” said Col. Daman Al-Daraan, spokesman for Al-Jouf police.

“One of the students suffered injuries to his arm and was rushed to hospital. ... Two students were arrested. Search is still continuing to catch the others,” he said, calling on parents to keep an eye on their children after school hours.

“Students should be taught the correct Islamic behavior which would keep them away from trouble,” he added.

Meanwhile, the General Administration for Education transferred the two students who caused the fight to two separate secondary schools located some 30 km away from Domat Al-Jandal.
