JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor’s website was hacked recently by a young Saudi man who has been unable to find a job. According to yesterday’s Al-Madinah newspaper, the young man broke through the ministry’s network and posted a message saying: “We are sick of unemployment. Can you hear us?” Unlike more insidious hacking violations of government websites, this hacker did not wreak havoc on the system by, say, deleting files or introducing nasty Trojan horse viruses. He simply had a message to give to the ministry and wanted to be sure the ministry would read it. One thing is for certain, this proved to be a far more effective way of delivering a message than submitting an e-mail through proper channel. Oh, and another thing: Does anyone need a qualified Saudi IT professional?
