JEDDAH: Interior Minister Prince Naif chaired the 15th annual meeting of regional governors at his office in Makkah on Sunday night. The meeting discussed housing requirements of citizens, particularly those with limited income.
The meeting also discussed the structure and organization of governorates including enhancing of their capabilities to provide quick services to citizens. A number of princes and officials participated in the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Prince Naif said the meeting had discussed important matters related to citizens. "We have informed the governors that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is keen on providing housing to the needy Saudis," the minister said.
Prince Naif said the security condition in Makkah, which is thronged by thousands of pilgrims, was excellent. "There are more than 4,000 security officers to keep law and order inside the city in addition to over 16,000 security men outside the Haram," he said.
