Handset in disguise

It feels like a camera and handles like one too, but the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot is actually a phone in disguise. The C905 features an 8.1 megapixel camera with Xenon flash offering outstanding picture quality — complete with face detection, auto-focus, smart contrast and image stabilizer. Graphics are viewed on a 2.4” scratch-resistant mineral glass display. The handset comes with a 2GB Memory Stick Micro for storage and a USB adapter for easy transfer of photos to-and-from your PC. Or you can share your memories by sending your photos wirelessly from phone to TV via Wi-Fi (using DLNA), or connect with wires using the TV-Out Cable ITC-60. Photos can be printed up to A3 size, plus the handset is GPS-enabled for geo-tagging of photos and navigation support. Be careful though to buy the version with the network specs that best suit your needs: C905: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSDPA 2100; C905a: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100; C905c: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900.

GPS-tracking website

Real-time GPS location tracking firm FindWhere has made its website available in Arabic at www.findwhere-me.com. The new website comes on the heels of FindWhere’s recently announced joint venture with Dubai-based I2TC to create a location-based service provider in the Middle East. FindWhere’s Arabic website provides the company’s MENA customers with secure, user friendly access to current and historical locations of their GPS-tracking devices and mobile phones, including the address, time and even speed. Services also include “on-the-move” notifications, panic alerts and notification of entry or exit of a pre-determined geofence. FindWhere customers can receive e-mail and text alerts to their mobile phones with information on the location of tracked devices. Location notifications are also available to customers on demand as a text message.

US government Arabic site

The Arabic-language website, www.america.gov/ar has been launched to replace http://usinfo.state.gov/ar/. In addition to offering up-to-date information on US society, values and policy in Arabic, www.america.gov/ar will also offer readers information that is specific to the Middle East region. The site uses the latest web technology, including podcasts, photo galleries, and videos, with stories on issues such as the election process, the lives of Arab and Muslim Americans and other aspects of US society and institutions.
