JEDDAH: A woman attacked her husband with a stick, forcing him to go to hospital, during an argument in the Rawdah district of Jeddah.
The man, who suffered cuts and bruising, reported his wife to the police, said a police spokesman.
“I went on beating him because he did not resist. I don’t know what I was doing,” the woman told police after her arrest.
A source at the hospital said the man would need three weeks’ treatment and rest before returning to work.
The woman was released on bail. Police said they would pursue the case once the man recovers and decides whether he would like to press charges or not.
Meanwhile, a man beat up his wife, hospitalizing her, in another domestic abuse case in the same neighborhood of Jeddah.
Police said the woman’s brothers later assaulted the man to avenge their sister.
