JEDDAH: More than 250 students from different schools in the city took part in a drawing/painting competition organized by Farook College Old Students Association (FOSA) at Al-Talal International School in Sharafiya on Friday.

The contestants from LKG to Grade XII, including Arab students, were divided into five groups. “It looked like a festival with the presence of a large number of parents and their children,” FOSA President P.K. Ibrahim said.

He said the next drawing contest would be held on the Children’s Day that falls on Nov. 14. Winners of the Friday’s competition would be announced shortly through the media and given attractive prizes.

The association concurrently organized another contest for parents, which was supervised by Tajuddin P.M., the general secretary. The participants were asked to identify 50 of 103 oil paintings of historic personalities displayed on a large screen.

Ibrahim commended the efforts of FOSA members, especially executives, for making the event a grand success. He said financial returns from the program would be used to support outstanding poor students of Farook College in Calicut.
