RIYADH: As part of the fraternity’s community services and its promotion for camaraderie and fitness among its members here, the Saudi Arabia chapter of Triskelion Alumni Organization (TAO) of the main Tau Gamma Phi and Sigma Fraternity once again organized the third Lion’s Cup Women’s Volleyball Tournament recently at the Kingdom Hospital.
More than ten teams representing various hospitals and medical centers in the capital participated in the colorful tournament.
The tourney was graced by the Philippine Ambassador, Antonio P. Villamor, various community leaders and officials representating the participanting teams. Villamor applauded the group for their activities. “I am indeed happy to see more activities that enhance camaraderie and fitness among our countrymen here” Villamor said during the opening ceremony.
He had a word of encouragement to the TAO officials and participating team for organizing the third Lion’s Cup. “This would further improve your skills, team work and cooperation” he added. He emphasized of the importance of such kind of events that likely provide opportunity for friendship, camaraderie and understanding between different cultures.
The ambassador assured the group to extend the Philippine Embassy support as well as his personal to the organizer. At the same time, in a way of recognizing and attributing the important contribution of the sponsors financially and logistically Villamor said that such a big event could not be possible without the support of the sponsors, I joint with you in extending our gratitude and thanks to the sponsors for their benevolence and kindness in making funds for this tournament. Meanwhile, TAO adviser Amen Panolong has commended his fellow officers and members of their Riyadh, Eastern and Western Province chapters for their dedicated efforts in organizing the event for the third times. He said that his fraternity. of Tau Gamma Phi and Sigma in Middle East, Europe and America are doing the same humanitarian services to the various sectors of society.
