ABU DHABI: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched "Jump to Amazing Thailand" initiative at the Abu Dhabi Hilton Hotel, with a seminar and workshop targeting principals and head teachers of the UAE's leading international schools. The initiative has been crafted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand specifically for UAE international schools with the hope that through this initiative Thailand can prove a valuable impetus in developing the minds and scholastic learning of UAE based students. As part of the campaign, educational programs and experiences focusing on various themes such as the environment, culture, history and other specialized fields of study are offered as options and tailor-made to meet the curriculum and scholastic needs of schools.

To kick-start the initiative, a seminar and workshop was held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, to provide principals and head teachers with details of Thailand's infrastructure and expertise in hosting international school camps, as well as provide them with the opportunity to meet directly with such specialized tour operators who are visiting from Thailand to especially attend the seminars. Following the seminars, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will host interested school representatives with a trip to Thailand later this year to experience and inspect first hand the services and infrastructure that the destination and tour operators are able to provide within this specialized field of tourism. "Thailand's diverse regions, cultures, history and environments make it an ideal school camp destination for every field of study. Our sophisticated tourism industry is reliable, experienced and holds the necessary expertise in order to safely and successfully conduct unique school camp programs that are both educational and fun at the same time. Additionally the quality of the programs is amongst the best in the world, yet are provided economically for budget conscience schools and parents," says Pramoth Supyen, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai and Middle East Office.

Visitors from the Middle East to Thailand have steadily increased with the total number in 2007 reaching 426,721, an increase of 11.34 percent compared to 2006, and with the total number in the first half of 2008 increasing by 22.7 percent compared to the same period in 2007.
