JEDDAH: A lecture on the Prophet's companions will be held at a venue close to the Isteqdam office here today. Abdul Sattar Khan, a well-known journalist and researcher, will be the main speaker. "This is part of a monthly lecture series on 10 heavenly-bound companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)," said Abdul Mateen Osmani, the main organizer.
Omar bin Khattab is one of the great companions of the Prophet and second Caliph of Islam. He was a great ruler and during his era two super powers, the Parisian Empire and Roman Empire, were defeated.
"The struggle and sacrifices that the 10 companions of the Prophet made for the cause of Islam is a source of inspiration for all people," Osmani said.
